Poinsett County is located in Northeast Arkansas
and was formed in 1838. The county seat is Harrisburg and
the largest city is Trumann. The County has a rich history
and several local spots are listed on the National
Registery of Historic Places.
Many factories and small business are located
in our cities. For recreation, you will find great fishing
at Poinsett
Lake and State Park or one of our many fishing holes.
Hunting is also popular in the area - especially duck hunting.
Crowley's
Ridge runs through the center of the county. To the
east and west of the Ridge you will find rich, flat farmland.
Arkansas State University has a Technical
Center in Marked Tree and Waldenburg is famous for it's
barbeque. There is something here for everyone.
